International trade
Thailand is very much
open to international trade and is an active member of ASEAN
since August 8th, 1967. The share of foreign trade in
country's GDP has reached more than 150%. Thailand mainly
imports electric and electronic equipment, mineral fuels & oils,
machinery, iron & steel, and plastics. The import partners are:
Japan, China and the USA.

LAHORE: Thai Commerce Minister Mr Krirk-Krai Jirapaet has said
that both Pakistan and Thailand have very strong credentials to
join hands to give new strengths to their respective economies.
He said that both the countries have good geographical locations
making them a safe heaven for investments. Krirk-Krai Jirapact
expressed these views while speaking at Lahore Chamber of
Commerce and Industry on Wednesday.

tourism, textiles and garments, agricultural processing,
beverages, tobacco, cement, light manufacturing such as jewelry
and electric appliances, computers and parts, integrated
circuits, furniture, plastics, automobiles and automotive parts;
world's second-largest tungsten producer and third-largest tin
producer
Imports:
$119.3 billion f.o.b. (2006 est.)
Thailand Major Imports:
capital goods, intermediate goods and raw materials, consumer
goods, fuels.
Import from Pakistan:
Textile Yarn & Fabrics, Surgical
instruments, Cotton American, Leather manufactures Articles of
apparel & cloth & others.

Japan 22%, China 9.4%, US 7.4%, Malaysia 6.8%, UAE 4.8%,
